I’m a Rapper – Why do I need an Auto Responder?

Growing up in NYC I remember being in the clubs watching the hot girl with the clip board walk around adding names to the Mailing List. She would work the bar, work the line outside, and even bust a move and the dance floor while she filled up her list. And the artists loved her for it.

At the end of the night they had a list of highly targeted leads. Leads that have already been exposed to the product are interested in what you put out, are actively looking for more.

Building you List the absolute foundation of Network Marketing, and you have been doing it for years.

The concept is there: these people are interested in me and I want to be able to reach them and keep in touch. I am here to show you how to take that one step further and turn you list into CASH MONEY.

Street Teams are the dinosaurs of Hip-Hop.
The text you send on the way to the club or the email you send leading up the event is going to make MORE of an Impact, stay in my phone longer than any flyer you hand me, no matter how big the boobs or how juicy the booty. At the end of the night there are more flyers in the street that with your people.

An Email Auto Responder is the equivalent of your Street Team. Each time someone subscribes to your list they will receive an automatic response to that request, welcoming them in to you list.

You then create a list of emails to be sent out to this list every few days. Intersperse those messages with Broadcast messages that you have written about current or upcoming events. It the average person needs to be exposed 6 or 7 times before they make a purchase. You do this with each email automatically 24/7, while you are asleep, or in the booth, or on stage.

What am I going to write about?
Are you serious? The average rap song has over 350 words, 10 catch phrases, 40 headlines and 3 concepts. Take a look back over your music and find topics of value. How many of your songs mention your past? How rough it was growing up and how much you knew things had to get better. That is the most universally marketable story in the world.

Everyone struggles and you found a way out. You are a leader. You provide value.
By using tolls like this to leverage the power of the internet your fan base will explode. Fans will be waiting for your emails so they can learn more about you. This is the key to building an online presence.

AWeber - Email Marketing Made Easy
Aweber is a great Auto responder and also the one I use. It’s is pretty much the standard. There is a small monthly fee but for the options and accessibility you are getting a deal. Other cheaper or free auto responders have some string attached….attached to ads and whole other junk that slows you down.

We need to keep operations streamlined, keep you focused. There is no time to waste. I want you making the most of every minute you spend online. In social media or working on your blog you need to get into a routine of Money Making Habits. Updating and sending broadcast messages to your list is an awesome way to spend time online, and work that writing muscle, instead of so much WorldStar. (no disrespect :) )

If you are reading this you may be asking yourself:

What am I you going to write about? & how long do these articles need to be?

Let me make this super simple for you. An average person will max out and stop paying attention at about 450 words. That plus the fact that most people read at about a 9th grade level should take the pressure off. Plus, using Articles to Market you Music Online is a great way to build a relationship with you listeners and develop trust.

Consider this…If you are writing your songs on your computer already then you have tons of articles that are  just about finished.  All you need to do is add the bread. Your lyrics, your music, your art is the meat. Add an Intro with a short history maybe mention where you were at the time or what was your inspiration. At the end leave a signature – 2or 3 sentence max- that directs them where to go for more.

With that done now all you need is the Strategy.

A couple of months ago we released a training from one of our most successful marketers, which revealed EXACTLY how he was generating 30-50+ leads a day using nothing but a simple four step article writing strategy. (and it’s one of my favorite ways to market your music.)

Well, the success from this one training alone has been nothing short of incredible. Traffic to our membership site literally DOUBLED in a couple of weeks.

However, we realized after about a month that there was something missing…

While some of our members were DOMINATING the search engines, others were still a little
confused on putting all the pieces together and creating their own well-oiled, lead
generating machine that cranks out cash on demand.

So what here’s what we’ve done…

We’ve combined the knowledge of 3 of our most successful marketers and we had them fill in all the gaps, tear apart each step, & dissect every section of this marketing approach so that YOU could understand it, and more importantly IMPLEMENT it starting TODAY!

Have You Already Made This Mistake Too?

This simple little tip will drastically improve your ranking anywhere.  It’s so quick and easy and so many people artists especially never take a few minutes out to do it.  Did you make this mistake?

Have you tried this?  Google your name.

If not you really need to stop what you are doing and do a reality check. How far down if ever do you see the Website about you and your product that you actually want people to go to?

So, here is how to change that.  Here is the trick.

Create a Google profile of yourself. If you have Gmail account, you can log in using you Gmail account.  And do yourself a favor, do this only once.  So pick an email that you are actually going to keep.  You are trying to streamline all roads that lead to you and your brand so it is in your best interest to not confuse the system.

So choose your account or create a new one and go ahead and fill out a Google Profile.  Then check you ranking again.  Let me know your results.  I went from Page 5 to Page 1, pretty cool huh?

All this should get you thinking.  How do you fans find you?  What keywords do they Google?  When you have to quickly direct someone to a website which is the one you use the most?

As an artist you have already positioned yourself as a leader.  Outside of being able to create you have taken the steps to record, package and are now at the promotion phase of the sale.

Marketing yourself is the first step and major foundation to any online business.  So learning how to position yourself online and leverage the internet is all part of the process.

Now let me give you a heads up…

The average person getting into Network Marketing or starting a home based business spend the first and better part of their experience searching for the right product, the right company.

As an artist you skip that step.

Your main product is your music.  The connection is already made.  You live and breathe your product and all you really need to market is You.  So while they are soul searching Energy drinks and learning how to discover their “why” you can be hard at work mastering online marking skills, always one step ahead of the game.

The Auto Responder is the equivalent of your Street Team, but on steroids.  Instead of posting flyers and pushing your CD on street corners you have strategic sales funnel in place that positions you as a leader and provide Value to the Marketplace.   It runs all night every night and never complains that their feet hurt.

Each time someone subscribes to your list they will receive an automatic response to that request, welcoming them in to you list.

You then create a list of emails to be sent out to this list every few days.  Intersperse those messages with broadcast messages that you have written about current or upcoming events. The average person needs to be exposed 6 or 7 times before they make a purchase.  You do this with each email.

Online systems like Aweber and Get Response allow you to separate messages by several days, manipulate multiple lists and build a database.

What am I going to write about?

Are you serious?  You write for a living.  The average rap song has over 450 words, 10 catch phrases, 40 headlines, and 3 concepts.  If you can take a look back over your music you will find topics of value.

Now all you need to do is highlight a common problem.

How many of your songs mention your past?   How rough it was growing up and how much you knew things had to get better.  That is the most universally marketable story ever told.

You have endured the pain and struggle.  You found a way out.  You are a leader.  You provide value.

Here is a video of Jim Rohn, He teaches that your success is directly related to how much value you bring to the marketplace.
